Digital works

For my digital work I started integrating the natural environment into my imagery.

Created by digitally overlaying photographs, paintings and/or drawings, with these prints I experiment with the juxtaposition of the natural and urban settings.

 I started working on the Reimagining London Series during the pandemic. Lockdown has turned walking around London into a completely different experience. The backdrop hasn’t changed, but the emptiness and silence (occasionally interrupted by natural sounds) were contradictory to a scenery that is usually associated with frantic movement and loudness. Therefore, my reimagined cityscapes are intended to revise and adapt the London skyline to better match the city life reality of that time.

The Broken Landscapes Series represents images of natural environments that are cracked and fractured to portray a scenery that is precarious and uncertain.

For me, amending what would otherwise be a conventional nature photograph, is a way to incorporate reality and rude awakening to the artistically overproduced romantic landscape
